Line Bourdoiseau, 1997, France

Photo: Sofie Isaksson

At Järntorget, where where OpenArt takes has its Info Center, Line Bourdoiseau invites us all to join in shaping the city’s square. Rich in colour and varied in format, her sculptures wait to interact with us. We can step in among them, even move them. Children and adults are welcome to create new constellations of works that are all shaped from recyclable materials.

The art installation becomes an exclamation point for the message the artist wants to convey: that the city space belongs to everyone, that we all have the right to participate in and influence public spaces. The square itself becomes a symbol of democracy, a place where we have the right to express ourselves and gather to shape opinion.
