Safe Place

Where is your safe place? Is it a physical place in the city or perhaps with a person special to you? Together with Örebro's residents, the artist has investigated what a safe place is to us. A recurring answer is in our own home. Something else mentioned is the importance of the presence of other people at the site. The light is also emphasized as significant as we in Sweden live most of the year in darkness. With the traditional Falu Red color, the artist highlights the importance of the home in the artwork. In a row of gold-colored mirrors, the precious light is captured. In the mirror we also face ourselves as a living portrait of us who populate and give life to the place.

The installation is the result of a 30-day residency.The residency is held by OpenArt for the Creative Europe platform MagiC Carpets with funds from the EU.
