DAKU, India

Photo: Sofie Isaksson

Like rays of life itself, the waters of the Svartån River rise towards the heavens in seven fountains. The sunshine creates rainbows that constantly fluctuate in seven colours. The artist DAKU sees the rainbow as a symbol of hope – the hope we all need in a world of conflicts, climate disasters and personal crises.

DAKU investigates the phenomenon of time and wants to bridge the gap between the temporary and the eternal – make us contemplate the flight of time and experience unfailing hope. The number seven carries great weight. Seven fountains, seven colours, seven days of the week, seven deadly sins, seven wonders of the world. Seven is also the energy centre that, according to Eastern philosophy, exists in our own bodies.

DAKU is an anonymous Indian artist.
