Jelena’s sculpture group can be used as seating, but it is also a metaphor for the baggage that can exist in romantic relationships. Life before one became two, a child from a previous relationship, a person that only one of the partners knows about, or the suspicion of that. A relationship contains so many more components than the two people in it. For Jelena, this power play is also present in the artistic process – in the work with the material and among those who will encounter the artwork.
