En kvinna står framför ett stor teckning på en häst

Cecilia Jansson needs a certain adrenaline level to start up a project. There must be a risk of failure. Therefore, she likes to seek out unfamiliar situations or unfamiliar cultural contexts. Her works are often large-scale, and the material is as meaningful as the form, where she uses time-consuming techniques in materials such as porcelain, asphalt, bread, and silicone. The tension between different materials and the human instinct to categorise everything and everyone are central themes and important driving forces in Jansson's artistic practice.
