OpenArt's vision

OpenArt is the citizens of Örebro's recurring art exhibition, outdoors, in the middle of the city. Through high artistic quality and freedom, the biennale creates inspiration, new thoughts, and conversations that promote democracy both during and between exhibition years. OpenArt is for everyone, and art must therefore be accessible to and engage everyone. It is a biennial with art from all over the world and constantly new experiences that attract both Örebro residents and others to the city. It leads to an increased interest in art and culture, inspires development and makes Örebro an attractive city to live and develop in. OpenArt strives for sustainability in our organization from a climate, economic and social perspective.

Social

For OpenArt, it is important that no one is left out in the development and that everyone has the same rights and opportunities to influence their own lives. Contemporary art can raise awareness of issues such as human rights, gender equality, climate, identity or class. By being an exhibition without an entrance ticket, people from all backgrounds and ages are included.

Ecological

For OpenArt, it is important to conserve the earth's resources so that they are sufficient for everyone, today and in the future. For example, through sustainable travel for our artists, smarter food and energy efficiency.

OpenArt works to reduce the carbon footprint of its operations. We choose ideas, materials and plan our production with sustainability in focus. With circular thinking and the ability to collect, reuse and recycle materials, it contributes to reduced costs and at the same time does something for the environment.

Economically

By being part of Örebro Municipality, financial resources are used efficiently in a way that benefits people and the environment. For example, through sustainable investments, sustainable procurement, but also contributing to a sustainable business community.

OpenArt works to make contemporary art accessible to as many people as possible. Through its location and presence in the city, there is often the opportunity to experience the artworks at all hours of the day.

OpenArt offers information about the exhibition and the artworks in Swedish and English, on its website and in the app. In the OpenArt app you will also find films with audio and sign language interpretation.

Guided tours are offered during the exhibition in Swedish, English, Swedish sign language and with audio interpretation.
