With nervous energy and choppy movements, Tobias Bradford's sculptures break out of the expected. They take a step from the rigidity of mechanical engineering straight into the fragile nature of everyday life. Within the sculptural installations, a kinship between technology and the unknown is revealed. Absurd, melancholy, fragile and emotional. In the friction that arises in the meeting between the grotesque and the carefully observed, a warmth is generated which, despite its mechanical design, inhabits something deeply human.
