1989, Sweden

I make installations that demand their space on walls, in ceilings, over floors and through windows. I express my work in relation to the place it inhabits, but perhaps above all the place I am at the moment mentally. The finished work becomes a bubble where I and the viewer can reflect on why things are the way they are. Sometimes the bubble is a party with song and dance. Sometimes the bubble is something that grows, just like what grew in me. Sometimes the bubble becomes a trap and gets a consciousness of its own that wants to take control of you. At the moment the bubble consists of millions of plastic particles that must be kept out of our waters at all costs. During and after my lifetime, the material must be reused and never ever float away.
