Welcome to this year´s OpenArt!

In this year’s edition you will find some 60 artists representing 19 different nationalities who together exhibits about 80 artworks in the city centre of Örebro.

With less than three weeks before the opening we are now in an implementation phase where among other things exhibition spaces are being prepared, facilities painted, transports booked, and art works are being built. At the same time Open Art´s meeting point for the summer is being prepared – Järntorget! As a visitor you will be able to go there to get all the information surrounding Open Art. Open Art´s public guided tours will have their starting point at Järntorget, and all other program activities will take place here. There will also be an open creative work shop for all ages. At Järntorget, Örebrokompaniet will also have an InfoPoint where you can go to find out what else is happening in Örebro.

Guided tours and creative workshop

OpenArt and OpenArt kids are offering guided tours for children and adults throughout the summer. The guided tours for adults begin at Järntorget, while the art walks for families will have their starting point at Örebro Konsthall and finish at the creative workshop at Järntorget. One audio descriptive tour for the visually impaired, and guided tours in sign language are planned during the summer. Tickets are available at Ticketmaster.

To get you more out of your art experience, OpenArt has once again created an app in collaboration with its IT-partner Headlight. Apart from finding information about opening hours and guided tours, the app will help you navigate through artists and art works in the city, go on shorter and longer art walks and personalize your own. For the younger visitor there is Kids; a fun and creative art walk customized for children and families to experience the exhibition together. The app is available for download from the 8th of June.

The opening of OpenArt takes place on Saturday June 8th at 13h on Järntorget. We will celebrate the opening with among other things dance, music, poetry and speeches. The exhibition will be open during 12 summer weeks in Örebro – beginning Saturday the 8th of June and ending on Sunday the 1st of September.
