Filippa Nilsson Kallhed 1986, Sweden

In my work are bodies that get consumed a recurrent theme and in the center is the girl with her dreams and search for identity. A lot of the inspiration comes from so-called girl culture and from that, I’m borrowing colors, symbols, materials, and tendencies. One of the biggest motivation in my work is my desire for the material and I let it take up a large part. Above all, I work with sculpture and I use products and attributes that already have a certain history – this is an important part of the process and how the final work turns out in the end.
