Anna Sörenson Rydh 1982, Sverige

I am interested in absurdity because it generates a creative cognitive process; it moves us out of the ordinary and shifts our gaze, if only for a moment. For me absurdity is a way to critique and to speak about problems around us. Unfolding everyday practices I find that absurdity is all around me, in a kiwi fruits hairy exterior, the electricity in an eel or that some jobs require a wig. Humor can be of help, doing something so unpractical as creating art.
