Marta had to leave San Jose del Guaviare at the age of 9, when she and her family set out for Bogotá (, the capital city of the Colombia). Nowadays, Marta lives with her children in the Páramo de Sumapaz at 3.400 m a.s.l., a natural reserve located at the south of Bogotá, which is biggest water reservoir of Colombia and also an historical scenario of this country’s armed conflict.
Marta’s memories are now a fusion between her fantasies and fears. In this expanded documentary work we walk along with Marta towards San Jose del Guaviare, this municipality is part of an area that was once known for being the biggest coca cultivation, as well as cocaine base and cocaine hydrochloride production centres in Colombia, which has been controlled alternately by guerrilla and paramilitary groups.
This is a search for the San Jose of her child memories and for the memory of fragility.
