Press release. Örebro, january 27, 2015
Four days, a tent, three guided tours and countless moments of creativity. This is what OpenART offers under SM-Week, which begins on January 26 in Örebro.
SM-vecka (SM week) is a recurring sports event, arranged by Riksidrottsförbundet (Swedish Sports Confederation) in partnership with SVT (Swedish Television). This year, SM-vecka takes place in Örebro. An SM village is placed on Våghustorget, where visitors have the opportunity to meet with local businesses.
OpenART can be visited in the SM village 28-31 January. The OpenART tent is open Wednesday-Friday (10:00-19:00) and on Saturday (11:00-17:00).
“SM-veckan is a great opportunity for the curious to visit OpenART before this year’s edition. Together we will build an interactive installation, where participants can win one of three guided tours, offered during the summer’s exhibition”, says Nina Glimvall, Director of Culture and Leisure Department at the Municipality of Örebro.
OpenART is an art event organized in Örebro every two years. The main purpose is to give people the opportunity to encounter art in a different way, in the city center, shopping malls, display windows, facades, on the water, around the castle, in parks and other unexpected places in central Örebro. OpenART is a collaboration between the private and public sectors.
The fifth edition of OpenART takes place June 14 – September 6, 2015.
