Ink drawing on Japanese paper
The paper cut ink drawings exhibited at OpenART were made after small original drawings. The paper figures were specially designed for the cubes and they come together like a comic, like a short story. The two dimensional drawings got a third dimension by using the cube with all its surfaces. I try to create a strong work with very little lines.
In my artwork I create worlds that are either presented by means of a few lines on paper or largely extended on canvas. I use a fixed repertoire of figures that keep recurring. Although these protagonists often act in slightly minimal gestures, the impressions they leave are profound.
