I want my popcorn sculptures to be a playful “pop-up”, a meeting place in the city. The venue stands for change and transformation, a concept that most people can relate to. But when it comes to its function, the popcorn, enlarged by a hundred times the regular size, invites people to interaction, allowing them to sit and climb. The sculptures are a social adventure, as well as a place to meet.
I mostly work with painting and drawing. My work process is quick and spontaneous and I find inspiration in the cartoon and graffiti culture. I am drawn to creating representations of absurd situations, often comic and playful.
